Harbertonford & the local area

Harbertonford is a small village of circa. 500 people, just 3 miles south of the popular town of Totnes. This friendly village benefits from a community-run village shop and post office, a village hall, primary school, church, and petrol station with shop. Bus services run daily to Totnes (for mainline train services to Exeter, Plymouth and London), Kingsbridge and Dartmouth. There is a parish sustainability group, the annual ‘Ford Fiesta’ summer fair, village show, and a friendly allotment society with organically managed plots.
The nearby villages of Ashprington, Tuckenhay and Harberton all have popular pubs, including the famous riverside Maltsters Arms, and there are parish cricket and football teams and a youth club. The South Hams area of Devon encompasses beautiful beaches and miles of coastline, wooded river valleys, rolling countryside, and neighbours Dartmoor National Park.
